I haven't had any phone scams for over two years with BT and their system to protect from scammers. Some extras are free and others are a small fee or combined in the package. Anyone on BT should check for any extras.

I didn't realise that people still used landlines to be honest!

I love the facility to be able to block numbers - my mobile currently has 20 and counting. New home phone also has the ability and we are registered with the telephone preference service and ex-directory. I find asking where they bought their marketing list tends to lead to their call being terminated very abruptly. I love technology😀

BT do the exact same thing, they call it Call Guardian. I've had it on my home phone for at least the last 6 years and it works very well.

I had a slimy sounding individual phone me a couple of weeks ago.
Claimed to be from Virginmedia. His line of questioning to confirm I was who I was supposed to be got me suspicious, so I gave him an earful of my best quality abuse and put the phone down. Checked the number out and it is associated with a VM telemarketing outfit 😁

That's it and I couldn't remember the name. Come to think of it I think we had it before I bought the XE which was nearly 5 years back.
