02 xk8 engine issues

Post by CDI » Tue Jul 07, 2020 9:42 pm

I'm new to the site bare with me if I screw up with my posts.
I'm having some issues with my 02 XK8 , when I start it ,it has a very hard loping idle it actually shakes the car. It does this if the engine is cold or warm.
I check codes and it came back
*misfire cylinders 1-8
*bank 1&2 lean
The car has not been driven in 2 months and when I drove it the other day I had to almost stand on the brakes to get the car to stop, it's never been like before. Any ideas on what it could possibly be let me know.

This is a forum dedicated to the Jaguar XE only.
Whilst there may be some expertise on here you are probably better off asking about your issues on a forum with wider knowledge.

As Phil says this is the wrong forum for your car.

However you might want to check the vacuum pipe that runs between the brake servo unit and the engine. If the pipe has split or come loose it might explain both your brake and lean running problems.

I know what's wrong and if I could find it I'd fix it.
