Jaguar XE 2016 Suspension

Post by okouider » Wed May 13, 2020 9:52 pm

My car was left parked for a month due to the confinement. The front suspension is low. Started the car with no success . No warning light on the dashboard. Cannot drive it . Wheel touching the body when I steer.
Any idea .
Thanks

There is nothing in the suspension which would cause it to collapse over time.
It's springs and shock absorbers, not air suspension which can leak and lower sometimes.

Sounds like a broken coil spring. My last car was an air-sprung 2007 XJ6 Sovereign and the forums for that model were always complaining about the suspension going down. Over time small leaks would start that would eventually cause the car to drop down. ON start-up the car would level up when the air compressor refilled the reservoir. I neve had this problem, BTW

If it is a spring why is it lower both side . Front right and left side.

One side probably broke and the shock of the sudden drop caused the other side to go.
Does seem strange though.
What age is the car and is it high mileage?

Did have two X Types, a 2.5L then a 2.2L Auto with the dreaded DPF. No more DPF's for me.

The anti roll bar will be trying to pull the other wheel up to level with the side with what I assume is a broken spring?
