Yes mine are the same where they protrude more on the fronts - strange!

It wasn’t the damage that hurt the most but the look on my wife’s smug face whilst she said “at least you are ok dear and nobody was hurt” we got the alloy cover for my wife’s benifit but I just thought I’d get my money’s worth.

I won’t be too critical with the repair as I know it will happen again, I just don’t want it to cause further damage over the winter so I’d like to get it sealed ASAP

I know how you feel I had similar lesser damage. Mine was repaired without lathe turning but yours will need a lathe turning. I know that some repirers actually have the facility in their vans. I also know that 3 times is the max that can be done and in some cases twice.

That was my concern witht hese kind of wheels and the lack of tyre, however apparently that's not the case anymore as they now have paints which are an exact match for the machined finish so they can fill and paint, they can also fill with weld and just skim that section rather than the entire wheel*

*just going on what I was told by my insurer, aequitas, and their repairer, revive uk. Not actually had to have one repaired myself.

Just been given a repair date of 31st January! I’ll have booked another 2 repairs in by then!

I’ve been driving the XC90 since the incident but we are off shopping without the kids tomorrow so I think we will take the “posh car” as the kids call it.

It makes me wish it was a rotary engine as it make you just want to keep revving when you put your foot down. I did have the pleasure of driving a supercharged RX8 but I’m sure they had to reduce the Rev limiter as a result.

That's awful (especially now they've started salting the roads), who is the insurer/repairer? I've only ever had to wait a day or two for a slot.

Just seen the post re kerbing wheels. My appologies. Previous post was on appearance of car at delivery and not an attempt to comment on the damage.

Ouch. So easy done. Hopefully the repair will have them looking as good as before.

Finally had the alloy repaired, I’m happy with it, most of the damage was on the lhs of the photo, the chap repairing it said he had abit if a game because it had been repaired before! I’m not surprised with these wheels

Have you got a close up of the repair? Also who did it?

Managed to kerb one of my rears on Wednesday (and take a chunk out of the tyre sidewall) after some **** parked right up against the side of my car so the only way out was over the corner of a kerb - doesn't look as bad as yours though, more of a surface graze. Booked for repair next Thursday.
