XE To Be Included in Jaguar Fixed Price Service Scheme

Hi

You may recall my concern that the XE is not included in the Fixed Price Service Scheme for cars over 3 years old This lower pricing which also covers many consumables including brake pads, discs, brake fluid and wipers not only benefits Jaguar owners but also builds loyalty and thus business for the Jaguar Dealership Network.

Just to keep everyone updated I have sent several e.mails to Jaguar including Mr Glover the M.D. with many subsequent phone calls with the team at the Jaguar Customer Experience Centre.

Anyway I have received an e.mail stating :

"Whilst '100% Jaguar' doesn't currently include the Jaguar XE or indeed the current XF, I'm delighted to let you know that the development work required to add these 2 models is currently underway.

I can't give you a precise date, but we plan to launch a range of fixed price service and maintenance jobs for both Jaguar XE and XF by the end of March this year. We very much look forward to welcoming you into one of our Retailers in due course to take advantage of the competitive prices on offer. Full details will be uploaded to the 'Fixed Price Servicing' section of the Jaguar website."

Hopefully therfor the XE will be included in the scheme from the end of March.

That's great news, I'm due a service which is my first in May.

This is something that has been niggling away ever since I purchased the car, it's like the service prices seemed like a big secret.

I am hoping that the service prices are similar to those listed (or were) for other models. They compared with VW pricing for their services. I still have one service left on my "from new" plan so am more than keen to see what the prices will be and what commitment will be required ie number of services in the plan, and whether they could be transferred to another owner like the extra warranty.

Assuming the 100% Jaguar scheme continues along its current lines, there's no commitment, you just take it in for an "A" or "B" service, or for the listed jobs and pay the fixed fee, rather than whatever the dealership feels like charging you. :)

Booked mine in at Sturgess for next month and they confirmed it was now part of the fixed price servicing.
Just my luck it's due a major though!

At least the service costs will stay the same as our old XF.

I was at Marshall Lincoln last week getting the car MOT'd and asked about fixed price servicing, they told me that the XE wasn't included and my 3rd year service would be £382 with the next year being almost £500. They wish!
Luckily I live near to Doncaster so the Jag Specialist will be getting my money and it won't be anywhere near the amount that Marshall want.

I thought they said £280 on the phone but now I'm doubting myself due to the post above saying £380.
Might have to double check but they certainly said it was part of the fixed service.
This is the cars 4th service btw

I find it quite worrying that dealers offer such different advice. I think if you have a good one your ownership experience is far more positive. Fixed price servicing needs to be offered now the XE has reached its three years old landmark - there are a number of independent specialists out there who would love the business.

I checked the booklet from the Jaguar Approved Warranty and it states that any VAT registered garage can be used!
The only problem with using my local place is that they won't be able to update the jaguar service software.
Therefore unless Marshall get the fixed price servicing sorted before June I'll be going to a nearby Jag specialist unit.
And yes. Jaguar need to get the fixed price sorted across all dealers.

That's a good result.
Last time I checked online the XE still wasn't included.
Guess I'll find out next month when I ring round for my car's 3rd service.

Just to confirm it was £280 for an A (major) service on my XE-S plus £50 for MOT

Clean bit of health and my stop start is now working again
Hi Renesis - would you mind letting me know how you booked this, please? I called Sturgess Jaguar in Leicester on 0116 416 1081 and was told the XE wasn't eligible for fixed price servicing. They wanted just shy of £600 for the 4 year service on my 2.0 petrol.

Thanks!

Buy a new FPace then go back and buy an XES normally does the trick. 😂

I literally just booked it in for a service as I normally would and asked how much it was. I asked if it was included in the 3+ service scheme which they said it was.

Many thanks for getting back to me. Whether it's down to the different engine or luck I do not know, but I wasn't offered that (or rather, they explicitly said it wasn't available).

I am yet to find a dealer offering fixed price servicing on the XE, so it looks like mine will be going to a local specialist instead.

I've stopped looking now. Jaguar have lost a potential customer.
I'll just carry on taking mine to a Jaguar specialist where the price is cheaper as standard.

I received the following from Emma O'Hanlon, Customer Experience Advisor at the UK Customer Experience Centre which confirms fixed price servicing is not available:

I have liaised with the relevant team who have confirmed that unfortunately at present, Fixed Priced Servicing does not apply to the Jaguar XE. This would have been a carefully considered business decision in which the the reasoning would remain internal.
I suggest everyone finds an independent specialist or local garage they trust and saves themselves a lot of money. My car had been serviced by Jaguar before I bought it and was missing screws from the glovebox presumably where they had changed the pollen filter - draw your own conclusions about where to take your car and spend your money.

I get my XE in about 4 weeks and I am a bit concerned about servicing costs. From what I've heard so far, Dealers seem to make the prices up as they go along. In contrast with my last BMW which uses condition based servicing, it got it's first service at 20,500 miles and was nearly due it's 2nd service at 40,000 miles, just after I got rid of it. Total servicing costs for 40,000 miles and three years - £204 - from a franchised dealer.

From what I've heard. the first service on the XE which is basically only an oil change, is over £350!!

Any truth to that and could someone tell me what the service intervals are for the XE? I was told in 2015 when they first came out that it was every 12 months or 12,000 miles.

Depends, petrol's are every year and diesels every two. I took my petrol model for it's 3rd service to an Independent Jaguar Specialist. It cost £170, I was quoted £384 at Main Dealer! Servicing record was also updated online.

I got my XE first service (petrol - 1 yr) done for £266 at Lloyd Jaguar Carlisle. I understood that this was a JLR fixed price offering. Lloyd did a good job, as far as I can tell, and also enabled over-the-air infotainment software upgrades at the same time, after installing version 19A. Lloyd treated me very well, making sure that I spoke with the tech who was going to carry out the service and provided a newish courtesy car while they did it. I guess £266 is still quite lot for what is mainly just an oil and filter change, but they also did do a full diagnostic and presented me with a report showing all was well. Overall I felt satisfied with Lloyds, even though I've always done my own servicing on older cars that I have owned previously.

More than satisfied with my dealer. Always treated well. Quoted prices seem on par with the VW Passat, even though I have had two free services. When I asked about costs of service they were not cheap but if you weigh up the parts cost and the Jaguar guarantee of workmanship they are about the same as many other makes.

Just as a matter of interest - how did they update the service record online? I would like to know as mine is going to be serviced by a local garage instead of a 180 mile round trip to my nearest Jag dealer. I paid for a weeks membership of topix - but found no way to update service record - so how is it done please?
