I prefer a slightly debadged look.

I remember watching that video when I was waiting to collect my car.

To be honest I’m finding this a handful in the wet never mind that beast!

On the subject of de-badging what is the purpose of this horrendous rectangle cover. Can this be de badged

That's where the radar is for your adaptive cruise control is.

Is it just a protective cover or is it in fact the unit itself?
Love the ACC but my god it looks horrible. Hope jag manage to work around this in the future as our XC90 doesn’t have this contraption and that drives itself!

Also what I was staying earlier about adding badges. I have contemplated S badges on the side vents. I fear it could be OTT though

It actually caused a rear spring to snap due to excessive downforce.
I suspect it was just another dodgy spring, it was the plaque of the average car market in that period :)

In reality, you’d added too much drag for the car to go fast enough to generate any significant downforce ;)

I've never taken one apart, but you may find it's the unit itself fitted in to a hole in the grille? Pop open the bonnet and you should be able to see between the grille and radiator.

The 2020 XE looks like it has a different front grille and doesn't appear to have the same issue.

Hopefully this one just has an "old" unit attached with cable ties maybe?

I was 17, how fast would I needed to be going to get downforce 😀

Jaguars design department obviously had a day off when they came up with the ACC idea

Could be. I think this photo is more recent and has a different style of grille: https://cdn.motor1.com/images/mgl/OjM7M ... -photo.jpg
