Stop/Start again a few thoughts
Re: Stop/Start again a few thoughts
I'll definitely try hard not to be fobbed off. On reflection, I think the CCA statement is interesting. He's either saying that the car isn't charging the battery sufficiently (fine, software update for that?) or that the battery is lacking capacity (new battery?). Mind you, I'm taking the whole statement with a pinch of salt after he also said my rear wheels are on 1mm profile after passing MOT last week with zero advisories or issues (MOT done at same dealer, interestingly enough).

Re: Stop/Start again a few thoughts
Got the car back from its dealer visit (they had it for 3 days).
It received software updates to the BCM (slow clock), GSM (throttle hesitation) and PCM (start/stop) modules. I have noticed a new start/stop indicator on my instrument panel that was not there before (green A with circle when start/stop is activated - yes it works again, a white A with circle when start/stop is enabled).
I also got a vehicle health check report with everything green again - brake pads on 8 & 6mm, brake discs all ok, tyre tread depth 5mm.
With my old Volvo, I got the latest software updates whenever the car got its annual service from Volvo. It would be great if Jaguar had a similar policy, though if 3 software updates took 3 days, I'd dread to think how long a service would take!

2nd time of asking.PhilB wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 7:59 amThis topic seems to have run it's course so it's time to call an end to it.
If stop start isn't working in the first instance look at the list in the manual as to when it may not work.
If it is persistently not working then have a dealer apply the latest software update for the battery modules which fixes things.
Thanks.

Stop start is now to become a university degree course.
To go along with all the other garbage that seems to be degree courses.
And before anyone asks, yes I have been to university x 2

Re: Stop/Start again a few thoughts
The fix I reported on 6th July (p85 of this thread) is still working, despite my have done no journey longer than about 20 miles since.
