F-Pace wheel

Post by wooshi » Mon Sep 09, 2019 8:07 am

Hi all,

I need to find a winter setup for my XE-S, and I found a set of 18" inch from an F-Pace.

Image

The dimensions of the rims are : 7.5x18 ET45 (for the 4 wheel…)

I saw on the car than the 225/45/18 on the front and rear wheel seems ok, but I think 245/40/18 on the rear is the standard on the XE with 18" wheel.

Would be a problem to have 225/45/18 all around for winter tyres? And the offset of 45 would be ok too?

Thanks for your help…

You can use the same size 18's front and rear on an XE (225/45 R18) as not all models with 18" wheels had the larger rear tyres.
I seem to recall other people running the same sized winter tyres front and rear in the past.
As regards offset etc that is beyond me but I'm sure someone will be along to advise.

Thanks for your help ! I saw the 18" Matrix (for XE) who are only in 7,5", but the offset is 46... A really little difference between the F-Pace Wheel in Offset 45...

My 19" wheels are staggered, 7.5J x 19 ET 45 on the front and 8.5J x 19 ET 55 on the back so the 18" F-Pace wheel you're looking at has the same offset as my 19" fronts so should be absolutely fine on the XE.

225/45 will fit all round with no issues, although I'd be a bit concerned with putting that much power through such narrow tyres. A buddy of mine has a 340hp BMW and he's not happy with the official BMW 225 winter tyres, as he thinks it's too easy to break grip.

Are you getting new tyres fitted? Because those in the pic are not 45 profile...

Narrow winter tyres should be better as you have more force per square inch/cm.

Yes, these tyres are for the F-Pace (255/60/18), If I buy them, I will change them to 225/45/18 winter tyres. ;)

I know that 225 on the rear wheels for the power would be not enough, but it would be better on the snow (it happen sometimes where I live)
