Re: TPMS Display

Post by The_Lash » Wed Feb 05, 2020 3:37 pm

Hi all, new to this forum & 1st post
I’m finding that once I’ve driven around 10 minutes I get a “ low tyre pressure” indication. This is random & can show in any tyre but normally front right.
Within 5 minuets I get a following indication that “all” tyre pressures are low
I’ve checked all pressures & they are correct

Can anyone shed some light on what action I need to take
Jaguar Xe se 2015

Thanks in advance 👍

What tyre pressures are showing and what is the load setting?

As I understand it, the first thing you need to do is compare the actual and recommended cold tyre pressures in the insturment panel dispaly via the vehicle information menu. The recommended ones are those in brackets displayed alongside your actual ones.

The recommended pressures are determined by the vehicle's load setting which can be adjusted between Normal Load and Heavy Load, via the Instrument panel menus, Vehicle Info, Tyre Pressures and TPM Load Setting.

The ignition needs to be switched on, without the engine running.

Hi guys thanks for the reply
My tyre pressures are all within the cold perimeters 38psi when cold the 1st tyre indicator lights is says low psi 36psi ( recheck & Tyres’s are 38psi) but within 10 seconds all tyres indicate low pressure ( no pressure is indicated when all tyres indicate low). Once the car cools ( within an hour or so the system seems to reset. Once I restart & the car warms up I get the same “ all tyre” warning again

Then could it be that the batteries in the tyre pressure sensors are low? The sensors are battery powered and to the best of my knowledge the batteries last about 5 or 6 years. You cannot replace just the batteries; it has to be the complete sensors.

There is nothing wrong with your car. Those dashes will not be replaced until you come to a FULL STOP. If you check that screen while the car is rolling at all, you get dashes.
Not in my MY17 25T it doesn’t. I get the actual pressures and the recommended when moving. And it had the latest ICT Pro update in October.

The more recent models will also have the recommended pressure in brackets showing taking into account outside and tyre temperature too.
In the summer during hot weather and very cold weather it can vary a fair bit from the book pressures.
But it does save on false alerts as it is more accurate and realistic.
