Picked up my new XE last Friday and all tyres were set at 40 psi. Presumably it came out of the factory like that and wasn't dealt with at the PDI. Seems to be a theme developing.

yikes, I went on a 150 mile trip on Saturday and checked the pressures before setting off - 41psi, and they should be 38psi :o
I lowered each tyre to 38, however when I got home they were up to 40 - according to the dashboard readout - probably due to expansion from the heat?

Yep, quite normal.
I've seen mine at just over 40 after a blap down the local dual-carriageway despite them being set at 37 cold (19 inchers).
Friction etc will heat them and raise the pressures.
Main thing is to set them when "cold" .

thankyou for asking, no it hasn't - actually I was going to ask the forum whether it's worth getting it checked at a main dealer or an independent Jaguar specialist as I read on one thread a while ago that the main dealer set up is incorrect and the poster had a better result from an independent - the car is going in again at the end of the month to fix the s/s so thought I would get it done then :?:

I've always used a local jaguar specialist for non warranty work as I really trust him, his depth of knowledge and passion for the cars.

That's a beautiful looking car!
I am pretty biased though as mine is the same, just a left hand drive in Canada and with the adaptive cruise control :D :D
