Rear heated screen

Post by rob_thomo » Sat Sep 15, 2018 5:33 pm

Hi guys, was wondering if anybody could help or check there rear screens.

I was cleaning the rear glass and noticed on the bottom left that there is a spade crimp that looks like it should have a cable on it but doesn’t....does anybody else have the same?

The rear screen I don’t think works very well and I’m wondering if this may be the problem....the cars got to go back for some work anyway but don’t want to add something to the list that’s irrelevant

Any help would be great

My XE also has the unused connection. It looks to br part of the radio antenna rather than the heated screen.

Dont worry about it. :)

From past enquiries it is for the WiFi system if fitted. You will also see antennae writen on the glass as well.

There was quite a debate about the mystery connector.
My vote still goes for a power connector for the electric rear blind extra.

I hope this downloads as it may explain many rear window features.

This down loads all the systems for the V6 and you will find info on the rear screen on the 6th row 3rd in.

I found this bit on there on row 5, 2 in.
Looks like "5", "antenna amplifier connection".
Nothing connected to mine and I'm just wondering if it's for different markets that need an amp for the signal?

Highly likely and Japan seems to have a few variations.

Regarding the rear screen heating element being poor, I would agree, mine takes ages to demist compared to 30 seconds or so in my previous car!
