Govt' just anounced TODAY they are cutting funding from the 9th November for electric cars:
From 9 November, grants for new plug-in hybrids will be scrapped, while discounts on all-electric cars will be cut from £4,500 to £3,500.

No amount of money would convince me to buy any car with a range of less than 500 miles & a refill/recharge time of more than 5 minutes!

I would need a hell of a lot more than that to be able to get an iPace as well, I would think at £65k+ it's out of the reach of most XE purchasers.

From what I've read according to this article, Land/Range Rover will continue with hybrids as full EV's batteries don't like wading......erm don't hybrids have batteries too?
The F-Type will get binned mid 20's and the Jaguar range will consist of a big electric barge (XJ) that virtually nobody buys now and two or three full EV SUV/"Lifestyle" vehicles.

So to summarise would it be fair to say that Jaguar will no longer be a manufacturer of prestige performance saloons and sports cars?

The new Jags will all run on free electric and will contain 4 new AA batteries as a standby. The downfall will be that the AA batteries are not those currently freely available but measure 3ft x 9ft x 2ft and will be supplied by the AA when they come to the end of their life. They will be made from carbon and zinc so that the carbon can be captured from all the polluting cars powered by diesel and petrol. Sadly they will not take pollutents from lorries, buses, taxis, power stations and battery manufacture. The cost will be based on a 12 litre petrol car and this works out around £9000 per battery which will give at least 2 years usage working on an average 2000 miles per year. This is the future of motoring.
