Slippery Steering Wheel

Post by Kennl » Sun Jan 13, 2019 5:31 pm

Does anyone else find the steering wheel less tactile than they would like. I find that I have to grip firmly with my fingers and thumbs whereas in other cars my main grip is just through my fingesr with my thumbs only lightly in contact with the steering wheel. Ken.

Mine is good, one of reasons I am missing Jag while I have Velar courtesy car, that has a metal rim running around steering wheel, not very comfortable at all, makes my hands ache

Application of leather cream will feed the leather, making it supple and squishy and miles grippier. In addition , I wear deerskin Italian driving gloves bought at Hackett shopping outlet in Bicester village, near where I live.

I put leather cream on about 2 months ago. I’ll try some more.

Not had a problem with any of mine, I have a bad habbit of steering with just my finger and thumb (or just the palm of my hand) and never had a slip in about 120,000 miles in XE's.
I've also never applied anything to them, just an occasional wipe down with water with a tiny drop of fairy. Looked as good as new when I got rid after ~60,000 miles / 2 years.
