One possible solution for this combination below:

Car :Jaguar XE 2017 August, Diesel. In car software updated on official dealer today 10.7.2019.
Phone Samsung Galaxy A50 Android 9

After car infosystem update same problem continues, so it wont fix the problem -> but ->

Go to developer mode in the phone
and change
1. AVRCP to version 1.3 (older, default is 1.4)
2. change bluetooth PBAP version to 1.1 (default is 1.2)
reboot phone - > after you have restarted phone again,
please turn off bluetooth in your phone.

then go to in the Car and remove all paired devices from car system and
start again clean fresh pairing with your Samsung phone and car.

I can confirm that this procedure fixed at least my problem with A50 and Jaguar XE permanently.

Im not sure how this will effect with other devices , but at least my Bose
Quiet comfort headset and some other bluetooth devices still works after this change.

Just on this I recently got a new phone (Samsung Note 10+) and straight away had the bluetooth dropouts again. This time it seems to be tied into the screen turning off, the solution is in this thread https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S10/Galaxy-S10-Plus-Bluetooth-Disconnecting/m-p/474681#M2351. The alternative is to keep touching the screen to keep it live.

Didn't know this was still a problem. If anyone is experiencing these issues using Android then try this app out:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android_rsap.irmc&hl=en_GB

http://www.android-rsap.com/bluetooth-phonebook.html

It replaces Android's default PBAP (Phonebook access profile) and fixed my dropout issues completely. Just remember to open the app once after restarting your phone.

Texts to the car and phonebook pictures etc only started transferring after using this too for me.

Yeah that's a good fix for the previous phones. The Note 10+ is a new problem, lol, and bluetooth phonebook doesnt fix it but changing the settings does.

Not meaning to dig up a dead topic, but this issue has come back for me now.

Anyone had an official response from JLR on the use of Android with ICT (non pro) infotainment systems?
