Strange paddle shifting behaviour?

Post by Xephil » Mon Jul 08, 2019 9:19 pm

Could someone please check out or tell me, if it is normal, that the automatic transmission shifts down more than only one gear, when pulling the paddle in D at around 35 to 37 mph (56-60 km/h), from 6th gear down to 3rd or 4th gear? Seems odd. The RPM go up from 1100 to way more than 2000. It only happens when I first activate manual mode, subsequently it works normal; pulling left one gear down, pulling right side one gear up.

Same in S, only skipping one gear less.

Everything else seems perfectly fine. Dealer checked car and could not find any fault.

PS: It is the 180D

Mine does the same. I guess she thinks “oh you want to play do you :-) there you go!”.

Mine works just the same, a pull on the change down and it puts you right into maximum acceleration zone for rpm. It does sometimes change down 2 or 3 gears to do this.

Same.

If I just want to shift one gear down little push to gas pedal does the trick.
