Where to get the navigation SD?

Post by Mr_M_cox » Sat Jul 13, 2019 6:05 pm

Hi All,

So, I've owned my first ever Jag (2016 Xe 2.0 RSport Auto) for around half a day now and love it but am wondering where I can get hold of the navigation SD and how to make incontrol apps work?

Hoping I don't have to go direct to Jag and pay mega money for the maps but any advice would be great. Are there places on the internet that might have it albeit perhaps a little less official?

In regards to the incontrol apps i hook my phone up, it connects but says it cant load the apps and to ensure I have it install and phone unlocked, which I do.

Any help on this would be great.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt

I take it your car has the standard in control touch that uses the card in the cubby box.

You can only get the cards via Jaguar as they are linked to the vin of the car. I am surprised the card is not with the car as it can’t be used in another Jag because of the vin link.

Did you buy privately or via a garage? I would be tempted to contact the previous owner or the garage to see if they still have the card.

Map updates for the standard system are £97 so a new card will cost more than that.

The card should be in its slot in the armrest cubby. It's tied to the VIN of your car so useless to anyone else. I don't know, but it's possible the incontrol apps need it to be present? Anyone?

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

I actually found the empty SD card box so someone at some point had it. Nothing in the cubby slot.

I am going to head back to the dealer on Monday for a bit of a valet so I will mention it then.

As for the app, Im just going to go and try it a few more times but it just doesn't think the app is running despite registering the device as being attached. I have confirmed the app as running and the phone is not locked.

Discovered the app not working was due to me only allowing USB access to charge, it needs files too. Makes sence really that it needs to access app files.
