Post by Gary Gee » Fri Feb 14, 2020 2:30 pm

hi guys,

picked my car up from Farnell Jaguar yesterday... xe r sport 180D AWD ….millions of extras :)

anyway,i digress!, I got a email from Jaguar last night.telling me about ADBLUE wasn't mentioned at all by the people at Farnells?

Assume 500 miles per litre of Adblue and you have a 16l tank. The car will give you ample notice of refills or you might be able to go into the car settings (engine off) and look at the service info.

Be extremely careful not to overfill the tank. I used to top up the tank to a max of 13l.

Think more like 5-6k if you don't max out every fill.

I took out a service plan at the main agent here in Crewe, and found out that AdBlue topups are included in it ! It is the AdBlue that makes the car Euro 6 compliant so you can drive into London's ULEZ (Ultra Low Emissions Zone) without needing to pay the toll. You still have to pay the Congestion Charge though !

From a previous post, this is what I have done for 4 1/2 years....................
have had my car 4 1/2 years and just topped it up myself from a 10 litre tub to a 1 litre Redex Adblu bottle which stops overfill when the tank is full it stops filling. It also has a filter built into the discharge spout. Bad storage and age can make this go off but I have used the same bottle over 4 years and have recently opened another bottle (10 Ltrs). I may be wrong but I think that Europe only has 2 Adblue production plants in Germany and Belgium. ( That was from something I read, I think. No doubt someone will either confirm or put me right

I believe ChemPlus, Greenox and Noxdown manufacture AdBlue in the UK

There you go and all to the JLR spec, so no crap to be had regarding incorrect fluid and massive blls.
