I work in the construction industry (roads) and, although we worked on Monday, after Boris' announcement on Monday night we realised we couldn't continue to work AND maintain a safe separation between our workers. We have now closed and are all on "furlough" for the foreseeable. .
Good job there's nothing to do/spend money on as my wife is in the same position so not much money coming in.

Anyway, it WILL end and we'll all have a massive party to celebrate (and possibly remember)

Keep safe everyone, and thanks to all those who keep this Country running.

I work from home as an IT manager and my team are busy helping companies enable their people to work from home.
So for me this is my normal working routine and the changes are not being able to go out in the evening and weekends.

I work as a HGV driver delivering to supermarket distribution centres. Busier than ever
Quite rightly the NHS received got the applause last night, but guys like you and all those who work in a supermarket deserve a huge amount of applause as well.
Absolutely, considering some of the crap they have to put up with from ignorant customers.

I'm in the chemical industry and classed as essential, industrial language is sometimes required to ensure people respect the social distancing here although most are very good, realising we're in this together.

Full time work from home for me. I'm an account manager for an IT security company, so the only change is not being able to go out and see clients / prospects.

Treading a thin line between giving people the space and time they need to focus on vital projects (enabling teams to work from home, business continuity etc) and generating income for my business.

It's an interesting time for sure!

From this it seems a lot of people can/are working from home but some of us still have to actually go to work.
Perhaps we should have a poll to compare numbers?

Just for information have a look at the BBC Covid 19 section of the news page and put in your postcode to see how many people have proven positive in your area. So far it’s 10 in my town.Population 240,000+
