Anybody know what the 3.0D V6 engine in the XF is like?

I've just bought a 2016 XF 3.0d S, they have such a massive amount of torque from low down (same amount as the SVR F-Type!) and can be re-mapped to 340bhp for less than £400.

Can easily do high 40's on the motorway and way over 600 miles to full tank of fuel.

Being part exchanged 27th May 2020.

Sounds great too. No diesel clatter, just a lovely whooshy sound when you plant the foot.

Thanks guys, reason for asking was looking at this... https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 0V6&page=1

Only thing that put me off was it’s at a Renault garage, which could indicate the previous owner wasn’t happy with it and swapped it in for something else

Nice car! What's not to like with 300bhp and 700nm :)

Have you considered a 25d Xe with the twin turbo? Only 500nm of torque but very similar performance. I loved mine and only sold it to get better equipment.

Swapped it for a Renault LOL
I would like to think the worse Jaguar would still be better than the best Renault?

The VIN is SAJBB4AK1KCY78694 if you want to look up TopiX or OSH. It hasn't been to a Jaguar dealer in the last year because there are a load of software updates that need doing so that might rule it out with having an issue, maybe....

PNC clear. Declared sorn. Missed its first service 12 months/16000 miles. Was due January 28th 2020.

It looks like a good car and the mileage is low. As long as it’s in good condition I personally can’t see how you can go wrong if you are still in the 3 year manufacturers warranty. There are many possible reasons why it has moved outside the dealer network so if it was me I would phone the garage and ask them.

I live on the F-Type forum. Buying a used F-Type was a minefield of options and history and uncertainty and questions even dealers could not answer like who are Paragon! So I created a free lookup service. So not exactly "Classified" but requires some "know how" and access to some systems.

https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic ... PNC#p37264

I wondered over here as we were thinking of an XE to replace the family wagon. But that didn't happen but ended up staying as lots of people had questions about XE-S (340/380's).

I have a look once a week still (and sometimes Phil the mod pings me a message so I pop over).
