I'd be interested how you have managed to stop it sliding off the drive for the photo.   And yes, why did you give up on an electric vehicle?

The EV was on a PCP, Nissan Leaf over 3 years, they wanted more than they said the vehicle was worth. The trade in value was 700 less than the settlement figure so when traded in for something else I would be 700 down to start with. The new crop of EV's all want a big deposit to match the current payments, I am not doing many miles in a year, so financially its a no brainer. The Jag payments are the same as the EV only it will be mine at the end. Plus boy does the Jag move!

The weird thing about EVs seem to be that everybody wants close to Tesla Model 3 money for much less interesting cars (such as the Corsa-E starting at £30K, just a few grand less than a Model 3).

Not sure why anybody would consider paying £30K for a base model Electric Corsa when a Tesla starts from £4K more

My next car MIGHT be an EV if the infrastructure is there in a year or two. Planning to keep the recent Jag purchase at least 12 months, but not much more than 24.

Before I escaped, we had an early Leaf as a demonstrator/pool car for a few months at work.
For what we used it for, local trips to sites/meetings it was fine - much better than the Yarises, Notes and Kangoos we had as pool cars at the time.

But it was more than twice the price, and idiots (not me!) would occasionally forget to plug it in overnight...

My XE replacement might well be electric, if there is something that will do over 300 miles as a worst-case range, and at a sensible price.

It won't be for quite a few years yet though, the Jag is far too much fun!

I'm waiting for your lot to feed the dragons at the border so that I can get back in - I've got at least three breweries and a town full of bookshops I want to visit -without- getting the paintwork scorched!
