Automatic lock after a while?

Hi
I have bought a Jaguar XE with Keyless Entry.
But im missing the automatic door lock.
Is this a different option or it does not exits?

I have an addiction to forget silly things. Its a habit I got from my previous cars.
Usually when i forget it, it locks itself after a while. But my Jag doesn't?

BTW, I really like the car, looks fantastic and gets a lot of attention.
Drives really smooth and great finish of materials.

Hi
Unfortunately there is no auto-lock function.
So I'm afraid you will still have to use your brain in the future ;-)

By the way: I owned a Renault and the keyless entry provided an auto lock, as soon as I was a few feet away from my car.
I have to admit that I miss it in my XE :)

The only auto-lock is if you unlock the car but don't open a door it locks its self after about a minute. Don't forget you can install an app on your phone to check your car is locked and if it is not locked use your phone to lock it.

If you have the folding mirrors option you will see if the car is locked. Like you I don't have In Control and tend to forget sometimes too.
BTW don't leave a window open when you lock it, the alarm will go off...embarrassing if you left it in the Supermarket car park and get a call over the Tannoy.

I'd have thought yours would be a uk spec car in Ireland so should have it?

P.S. enable global close from the dash menu, then if you press and hold the lock button it'll close the windows too :)

To the original question; no, there's no "walk away" auto locking.

Sometimes auto-locking can be a real nuisance. If you leave the car unlocked and come back five minutes later with both arms full of luggage only to find it locked it can cause far too much bad language. Of course you could leave the doors wide open but that has it's problems too.

Agreed - I always unlock, open a door briefly and close it again - that seems to guarantee it will remain unlocked.

Yup, it will lock itself after a short while if you don't open a door.
BUT! whenever I'm washing mine I do the unlock and open and close the door so the mirrors stay out but on both this one and the previous it would eventually lock itself again after about 20 minutes just as I'm doing the wing mirrors.
I just think it's spooky.

Afraid not FourFoot.. Irish spec lacks a few features of the UK spec (Sat Nav) and (Met Paint) are options ..€2500 !! but the KPH Speedo is free !
No SMS either..but I suspect that is an illegal feature.

Ok with Global Lock as long as you hold down the button for a few seconds.

Have you got keyless entry? I've had it happen a couple of times whilst washing - just put it down to the key being in my pocket and touching/having soap/water on the sensor. Doesn't do it if I leave the key in the car.
