yes

this is what it means just to warn you and be observant on the side as I have no side cameras

nothing to worry about

ok then,
i rest my case ;)
(but I still don't like a warning icon when there is no reason)

I don't have side cameras but I do have side sensors which on work when the car us moving. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

I suppose you mean the "blind spot monitor", but the indication that is not active is an orange dot on the mirror

I think he is talking about the surround camera system as in having cameras on the sides of the car.
The blind spot monitoring is a different system and the dot is to tell you it's active and working.

But jamesdhill says that he doesn't have the surround cameras

I think we are getting confused here.

Kaspa posted a picture that showed he has the warning icons as you do.
Now, for some reason Jaguar have decided to add those icons.
Whether that is because you don't have side cameras or if you have the park assist pack the side sensors for parking aren't operating due to being stationary or whatever.

I think you now know what you have is the same as others with the ICT Pro and isn't a fault.

Some news I got today (the car was booked for three weeks):
After a year of problems with the rear camera, they located the problem at the "coaxial cable" which they will replace.
I hope this information might help some fellow ICTP owners.

Other Jaguar models, particularly the XF, have a history of problems with the wiring loom cable from the car rear to the boot lid causing problems. After a time the wires in the loom tend to break due to the movement and fatigue. The cure is to replace that piece of the loom, or some owners find it fairly easy to remove the loom and repair the individual broken wires. It's much cheaper than a new loom at about ÂŁ80 plus labour.

I have a similar problem. Rear camera has been working fine for more than a year, but when I started the engine this afternoon and put it to reverse, the camera system fault error message appeared on the dashboard, and reversing camera is not available since then. The car has been out all day in the heat though, and the camera was a bit heated as well. I hope it will be back to working order tomorrow morning, otherwise I would need to take it to the dealer I'm afraid. :(

It seems to be quite a common problem with the F-Pace as well.
If you have the Pro there's just been an update release which addresses the rear camera problem along with a few other things.
Apparently it's out on Topix now.
Lot's of chat about it here:

Thanks Phil. It's been working again since this morning! It might has something to do with the heat outside (nearly 40 degrees here)? I don't have ICT pro, but I've seen similar threads on F-type and Range Rover forums as well. I'm wondering f I should take to car to the dealer nonetheless, since the stop/start has been completely missing regardless of daily use and summer temperatures. And there are the mysterious puddle lights, which, if I'm correct, can be activated with a software update. These were not urgent issues though.

Stop start seems to be something that works when it feels like it!
Puddle lights?
The nightmare returns!!!
That should have been fixed at the end of 2015 as it related to an early batch of cars that didn't have them configured and it was an update that had to be tailored to each individual car.
Anything from early 2016 should have them working.

Just to avoid any confusion to anybody else this issue relates to the lights under the wing mirrors which should come on when you open the doors.
The puddle lights in the bottom of all four doors only come with the configurable lighting option which is an extra to allow you to change the interior lighting to different colours.

Mine is one of the earlier production cars. The lights are present under the mirrors but they don't work.
Stop start used to work in the beginning, then it had become sort of intermittent (thought it was because of the cold weather), and in the last couple of months, it hasn't been working at all. Can the dealer do anything with that? Last year they said it was due to the battery not being fully charged, but now I use the car daily so that shouldn't be an issue.
I've read a few posts here about two software updates, one relating to stop start and one to the battery.

It sounds like yours needs a few updates as there have been some to do with the battery and stop start.
Have you access to Topix to see what updates your car is due?
I would certainly go and see the service dept and sort out the update for the puddle lights and anything else that needs doing.

As an aside on my current one you get icons on the display when the stop/start is unavailable and normally that's first thing until the engine has reached working temp which is normal but sometimes I get it after going back to the car after doing some shopping etc.
Luckily it's something I turn off anyway and it wasn't working at all for the last 6 months on my previous XE.

I have no access to Topix, could you give a link?
Just spoke to the service department on the phone, and they haven't heard about any issuess with puddle lights before. About stop start, they said the same about the battery being undercharged, and that since I use the car in the city for short journeys, it has no time to charge up, regardless of frequent use, especially with the air-con turned on. They also said that until the temperature inside the car doesn't reach the level that is set on the air-con, the system doesn't let stop start to work.

Here you go:

https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm

To see all the details for your car you have to register as an Independent Operator which is free.
You can then enter the last 8 digits of your VIN and all the stuff will come up.

If you have any problems Chris then you can PM me the last 8 digits of your Vin and I'll have a look for you.
Yep, there's a lot more to the criteria for the stop start to work than people know.
I think they will have to look a long way back in the technical bulletins to find the puddle light issue but it was a pretty epic saga amongst the early owners.

Thanks, I will definitely register. I didn't even know that puddle lights existed until I saw that thread on this forum, now I'm thinking about buying some brighter leds to replace the originals :D
