My XE SE has issues holding onto the signal, unlike most other stations which seem ok,. Is it just a very week signal? I've checked for a siftware update but the car douesn't need one. Any ideas?

I tried Greatest Hits the other day coming up the M5 from Exeter to Bristol and it was cutting out frequently. Of course with digital it doesn't fade, it's either on or it's off. Back to my USB stick
Long ago in the days of my youth I'd try to listen to analogue Radio Luxembourg - but that was notorious for routinely fading in and out. You'd get halfway through a song and it would fade away while you furiously increased the radio volume, only for it to come back quickly and deafen you!
Sorry for the digression!
Pure guesswork, but I suspect it's to do with their 'local' element (putting out local news and adverts) meaning that they only broadcast to the local area via relatively weak transmissions - last time we went on a long journey (in my wife's Renault) we were having to retune frequently and we found that we'd occassionally hear a song appear to be 'jumping' as the signal switched from one transmitter to another that was slightly out of time sync.....
Thanks guys, that pretty much confirms it's not just me. I suspect it is week even though it's DAB, interestingly, it occurs where I have a week mobile reception as well!
I think it was Snelly on radio Merseyside who called digital "digital dodgital" as their digital signal was alwys dropping out. Until a few weeks back I never bothered with the radio but now tune into Heart on FM. That can also be rubbish music at times.
Some of the "National" DAB stations can have dead spots.
There are some pretty good ones if your taste is for music from the past.
"Absolute Radio" has some good stuff (60s 70s 80s and 90s).
I've used "Absolute 80's" on my regular trips down to Cornwall without any drop outs.
Until I hit the Devon/Cornwall border then it's "Pirate FM" on DAB the rest of the way.
Which is the clearest DAB station I've ever heard - anywhere.
