Hi everyone, I’ve recently picked up my first ever Jaguar. I’ve gone for a 2016 XE 180ps 2.0 Diesel R-Sport in BRG. I’d been looking for a while but as soon as I saw it in green I pretty much bought it there and then.
I needed a sensible motorway cruiser for my commute but I didn’t want to just get a bog standard 3 series, A4 etc etc. I wanted something with a bit more about it so the XE spoke to me. Really happy with it so far, just one thing…on the first cold start of the day I hear an almost grinding noise from the rear underside of the car, 5 or 6 “grunts”, almost like a dull grinding nose then after 4 or 5 seconds.….it stops. I’ve read somewhere that apparently XEs EVAP systems can responsible for this and it’s routine and a non issue but….. being a used but I’m hyper sensitive to all weird and new noises at this moment!
Anyway, happy to be here and I’ve enjoyed reading back through a lot of the old threads so far.
